Mythologies of the Doteli Tribe

Doteli , or  Dotyali  ( Doteli-Devanagari :  डोटेली ) is an  Indo-Aryan language  spoken by about 495,000 people, most of whom live in  Nepal . It is a dialect of  Khas , which is an ancient form of the modern  Nepali language , and is written in the  Devanagari  script. It has official status in Nepal as per Part 1, Section 6 of the  Constitution of Nepal  2072 (2015).  There are four main dialects of Doteli, namely Baitadeli, Bajhangi Nepali, Darchuli and Doteli.  The  mutual intelligibility  between these dialects is high and all dialects of Doteli are able to share language-based materials.  The language is known by various names in the far–western region of Nepal, according to the districts.  Although Dotyali isn't fully intelligible with standard Nepali, Dotyali is considered a member of the macrolanguage Nepali.  In Nepal, Doteli is considered a Nepali dialect. However, local intellectuals and people of Doti, those who speak Doteli, are increasingly demanding their language

The  Swangla  is a tribal community found in  Lahaul and Spiti district  of  Himachal Pradesh , India. They are primarily settled in the pattan region of the Lahaul sub- division. As per Census of India, the population of Swangla Tribe stood at 9,630 (Males 4829 and females 4801).  As of 2001 , the Swangla were classified as a  Scheduled Tribe  under the  Indian government's reservation program  of  positive discrimination . The Swangla are a small Hindu tribal group of people who live in north India in the foothills of the Himalayas. Their main occupations are agriculture and animal husbandry. For much of their history they have been isolated in the high valleys and hills where they live. The main language of the Swangla is Tinani. This is an endangered language with only 12,000 known speakers. A New Testament became available in Tinani in 2017. The  Awadhi tribe  or  Awadhis  ( Awadhi : अवधी,  اودھی ) are an  Indo-Aryan  ethno-linguistic group who speak the  Awadhi  language and reside in the  Awadh  region of  Uttar Pradesh . Many Awadhis also migrated to  Madhya Pradesh ,  Bihar ,  Jharkhand ,  Gujarat ,  Maharashtra ,  Odisha  in  India  and some adjoining regions of the  Terai  in  Nepal ,  and in addition 3 per cent of  Nepalis  are Awadhi speakers.  Awadhi people can be found throughout the world, most notably in  Fiji ,  Guyana ,  Mauritius ,  South Africa ,  Suriname , and  Trinidad and Tobago .
